About Emerald Express
Built in the Northwest. Driven by family.
Our story
Emerald Express was founded 10 years ago in Sumner, WA, in the heart of the Puget Sound freight corridor. But our roots in trucking go much deeper — our owners have spent over 26 years behind the wheel, on the docks, and in dispatch. We didn't learn this business from a spreadsheet; we learned it one load at a time.
That experience shaped a simple philosophy: do two things — intermodal drayage and regional trucking — and do them better than anyone. Today our fleet of 30+ company trucks moves containers through every Washington port and hauls freight across seven Western states.
We also refuse to let someone else's shop schedule dictate our reliability. Our in-house maintenance facility handles everything from tire repair to full heavy-haul engine builds, and our mobile service truck reaches our equipment at a moment's notice. It's a big investment — and it's why our trucks show up.
We're still family-owned, still based in Sumner, and still run the company the same way: pick up the phone, tell the truth, deliver on time.

What we stand for
The values behind every load
Reliability First
Freight that shows up when promised is the whole job. We build our operation — maintenance, dispatch, driver culture — around keeping commitments.
Straight Talk
Honest capacity, honest pricing, honest updates. If something changes, you hear it from us first.
Respect for Drivers
Our drivers are the company. Good equipment, fair pay, and a dispatch team that has their back — that's why they stay, and why your freight is in good hands.
Long-Term Partnerships
We'd rather earn your next hundred loads than squeeze the first one. Most of our business comes from shippers who've been with us for years.
Let's move freight together.
